My client at Californians for Justice requested that I design an infographic to represent their new Educator Diversity policy recommendation. CFJ is a state-wide nonprofit that fights racism in public schools. This policy is the culmination of years of research, interviewing, and planning, and they needed an engaging visual to make their findings more accessible.
My client requested that I create a roadmap outlining the plan in a fun, cartoon style. She requested that I design a unique icon for each of the six steps. She asked that I design the social media posts announcing the new policy. Lastly, she asked that the infographic be legible when printed in black and white, because it will be sent to teachers, students, parents and educational professionals across the state of California.
With the organization's font and colors in mind, I began sketching the icons. I created a road sign to go with each icon as a way to play up the roadmap theme while adding more visual clarity.
